FMG Support prepares for next winter with Remote Access Weather Solution

The UK’s leading independent vehicle incident management and roadside assistance company,FMG Support, has invested in a secure remote access solution to enable its staff and clients to continue working whatever the weather.

Over the last few years, the UK has experienced heavy snowfall throughout the winter months, resulting in greater demand for the services of FMG Support. Key support personnel went to great lengths to make it in to the office, to ensure they were available at the end of the phone to manage clients’ distress calls – some walked for many miles, others provided colleagues with a complimentary taxi service with their 4x4 vehicles.

FMG Support realised that it needed to look at alternative working practices for staff affected by seasonal challenges and out of hours work, and appointed Rochdale-based ICT company, Central Network and Technologies Ltd (CNT).

The company designed and implemented a secure remote access solution for FMG Support, to allow staff to work effectively from home, with added security to ensure no unauthorised access could be made to systems. The solution was designed to enable staff to continue to provide the highest levels of customer service during all types of weather, increase productivity and business output by allowing users to work from home and minimise downtime.

Commenting on the project, Lisa Rhodes, Business Development Manager at CNT, said: “It seems strange to think about working practices for the winter months as we are approaching summer, but it’s essential that businesses plan ahead so that they are not caught out when the bad weather arrives. FMG Support is now set for this coming winter and it has already seen a return on its investment.”

Mark Scanlon, chief executive, FMG Support, said: “FMG Support is committed to providing very high levels of customer service, regardless of the challenges created by severe weather. We know that this more flexible way of working will benefit both our clients and our people”.
